Nina and Richard Hanson - Milton & Lascassas
The Hanson family moved to the Murfreesboro area six years ago. Rich studied Agriculture at MTSU and is employed by Williamson County. Nina takes care of their three children, home, and farm. She is also the manages the Lascassas Farmers Market, as well as the Rutherford County Farmers Market in Murfreesboro. With farming in each of their backgrounds, they decided to start growing veggies as a healthy and affordable alternative to store bought produce. They fell in love with working with the earth again, and their little farm took off from there! They now have multiple gardens, free roaming chickens, dairy goats, and honeybees. Their gardens were highlighted in the Discovery Center's 2014 Secret Garden Tour. You can expect to see Nina and Rich every Saturday at the market along with their produce (conventional, organically treated and heirloom varieties available), herbs, honey, goat milk soap and lotion, and beeswax balm.
