Todd and Jeanne Baxter - Woodbury
Todd and Jeanne Baxter of Jen-To Farms purchased their first Highland Cattle when they purchased the rough farm Jeanne's grandparents and previous generations had owned. From using Highlands for bush hogs to building a custom meat market around the "Grand Old Breed", they have been active in promoting Highland Cattle. They use free-range chickens to help control pests. With hens come eggs, so they also have free-range eggs for sale. Being interested in Heritage Breeds, when the idea of offering pork and lamb for sale came up, the research lead to Red Wattle Pigs and Scottish Blackface Sheep. If you are lucky you may see Todd striding around in his kilt leading an old Scottish breed - you will think he is a Scots man from the history books! Jen-To is available weekly at Lascassas Farmers Market, along with their grass-fed beef, pastured pork and chicken, and eggs. |
